The Brazil forward scored a truly magnificent, acrobatic, goal as his side made their mark on the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The 25-year-old, who plays his club football for Tottenham, was the man of the moment as he scored two goals against Serbia in their opening group game.

The first was a tap in to put Brazil a goal ahead, but the second could not have been more different.

Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr crossed the ball in, with Richarlison’s first touch knocking it up in the air before acrobatically lashing it into the goal.

It’s a statement that puts him in fine company alongside Diego Maradona, James Rodriguez and Dennis Bergkamp who all scored memorable goals in previous tournaments.

Richarlison was then mobbed by his teammates as they danced by the corner flag to seal a 2-0 win.

It was some World Cup debut for the Spurs ace as Brazil entered the tournament in some style, while training ground footage showed he has been perfecting the technique ahead of his debut on the world stage.

His two World Cup goals are now the same number as Ronaldinho managed.

Richarlison has been truly unstoppable for his country of late, scoring nine goals in his last seven games for his country.
